Virgin Atlantic now has a credit card referral programme, finally!
If you already have one of the Virgin Money Virgin Atlantic Credit Cards, this is your chance to earn up to 5,000 Virgin Points per referral, and your friends can also bag up to 7,000 points when they join.

Virgin Atlantic has two credit cards in the UK:
1. Virgin Atlantic Reward Credit Card (Free)
Earn 0.75 Virgin Points per £1 spent
Earn 1.5 Virgin Points per £1 spent with Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Holidays
Annual companion or upgrade voucher when you spend £20,000

2. Virgin Atlantic Reward+ Credit Card (£160 annual fee)

I personally had the Reward+ card for a year to grab the welcome bonus, then downgraded to the free version.
It’s not part of my main family strategy, but since Virgin Points never expire, I still use my card for bills like council tax and water, plus my quick Tesco bread-and-milk runs.
How the Referral Programme Works
Here’s the step-by-step:
Grab your unique referral code from the Virgin Money Credit Card app or the Rewards Lounge webpage.
Share your code with friends who apply for either the free Virgin Atlantic Reward Card or the Reward+ Card via virginmoney.com/referafriend. If you don't have a code, you can use mine: j+7knlNutAG++LrImUmH+w==
Once they’re approved, your friend has 60 days to enter your code in the Rewards Lounge.
When they spend at least £3,000 within 90 days, you both get rewarded.
You’ll earn 5,000 Virgin Points, and your friend will earn either:
7,000 points with the Reward+ Card, or
4,000 points with the free Reward Card,
plus the advertised welcome bonus.
How Many Referrals Can You Make?
Virgin Money caps referrals at 50,000 Virgin Points per calendar year, meaning a maximum of 10 successful referrals.
Depending on how you use your points, that could mean:
Multiple economy flights, or
A one-way Upper Class flight to New York (from around 29,000 points)
So, just by referring a few friends, you could be flying Upper Class sooner than you think!
Timing and Offers
The last big welcome bonus from Virgin Money was 36,000 points, one of the best we’ve ever seen.
If you’re thinking of applying, I’d personally wait for a bonus of at least 30,000+ points before jumping in, but as always, only you can decide if the current offer fits your situation.
Final Thoughts
We all know that Amex has the most generous referral programme in the UK, and Virgin’s offer is smaller, but still, this is a great step in the right direction.
If you combine a Virgin Red referral with the Virgin Money credit card referral, you could easily earn enough for a return economy flight from London to New York, just by helping a few friends get started.
